WEDNESDAY EVENINGS BEGINNING OCT. 29 AT 7:00 P.M. AT BETH AM
How can our prayers feel alive, heartfelt, and personally meaningful? In this four-session series, guided by Marcia Glass-Siegel, participants will explore selected morning prayers through meditation, chant, melody, and creative interpretation. Together we’ll discover how Jewish liturgy can open pathways to gratitude, awe, self-affirmation, and a deeper sense of the Divine.
Using texts in Hebrew, transliteration, and English, we will reflect on traditional words of prayer, experiment with alternative renderings, and even write our own interpretations to make the prayers our own. The class will culminate with a profound exploration of the Shema and its surrounding blessings— the “love sandwich” at the heart of Jewish prayer.
This is a welcoming space for seekers of all levels, whether you are deeply familiar with Jewish prayer or encountering it for the first time.
Be sure to mark your calendar for all class meetings: 10/29,11/5, 11/12, 11/19.
Cost: $18 for members (including conversion students), $36 for non-member guests.
