Join Rabbis Daniel & Miriam Burg for an informational meeting about Beth Am's 2026 Uganda Trip!

Since Rabbi Gershom Sizomu visited our congregation in February, several Beth Am’ers have expressed interest in taking a synagogue trip to Uganda to visit with the  Abayudaya. As you know, Rav Daniel and his family had an incredible and transformative trip to this inspiring Jewish community last summer. Our hope is to put a Beth Am trip together in February 2026. To that end, Daniel and Miriam invite you to an informational meeting on Zoom on Wednesday, April 16, at 7 pm. All are welcome and no commitment is required at this time! 

During this meeting, we'll: 

• Share a DRAFT itinerary for our February trip. 
  • The core of the trip will be a visit to Mbale in Eastern Uganda and our stay with the Abayudaya in Nabugoya Village. We’ll celebrate Shabbat with Rabbi Gershom and his community – and have additional time during the week to explore, learn more about, connect with, volunteer, and contribute to the community in various ways. 
• Discuss pricing and sightseeing possibilities 
  • Our tour company will offer a tiered trip with extension options for wildlife adventures (e.g. gorilla trekking in Western Uganda). We expect to have more information about these possibilities when we meet on April 16.
