Join us for an evocative evening commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day, featuring a slide lecture by acclaimed artist and textile conservator Anna Fine Foer.
Anna will share her experiences conserving Holocaust-era uniforms of the incarcerated during her two-year tenure as a contract textile conservator for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM). Her meticulous work prepared these powerful artifacts for the museum's inaugural exhibition in 1993. Through vivid imagery and personal reflections, Anna will explore the profound impact of preserving these haunting relics of oppression. She will also provide a rare glimpse into the early days of the USHMM, offering insights into its role as a bastion of memory and its continued significance today.
Don’t miss this unique perspective on a topic both well-documented and deeply resonant. Come to honor the past and engage in a conversation about the enduring importance of remembrance and resilience.
Admission is free. All are welcome. RSVP is appreciated!
